Procter and Gamble appoints new director
Procter & Gamble (P&G) has appointed a new director, it announced this week.
The firm has recruited Maggie Wilderotter, currently the chairman and chief executive officer of Frontier Communications, with immediate effect.
Prior to her appointment at Frontier, Ms Wilderotter occupied senior executive posts at businesses such as Microsoft, McCaw Cellular Communications and AT&T Wireless.
She also currently sits on the board of directors at Yahoo!, the Tribune Company and the Xerox Corporation, among other organisations.
AG Lafley, chairman of the board at P&G, said the new director’s “knowledge of media, communications and information technology will help us accelerate P&G’s growth. Above all, like P&G, Maggie puts the customer first in everything she does”.
P&G aims to accelerate the speed at which it invests in innovation next year, according to chief executive Bob McDonald. He added that this will allow for greater portfolio expansion and the serving of more consumers “in both developed and developing markets”.
