Bausch and Lomb announces availability of new products

Bausch & Lomb has launched two new products this week – its E0529 Lindstrom Lens Positioner and the E2960 Brown Crystalens Haptic Placement Forceps.

The firm, which manufactures ophthalmic instruments, announced that the products, which can be used during Crystalens surgery, are the two latest additions to its Instrument Set.

With a trident-shaped tip for the secure grasping and positioning of the lens during incisions, the Brown Crystalens Haptic Placement Forceps help avoid entanglement with the iris and anterior capsule.

The Lindstrom Lens Positioner includes a semi-sharp angled tip which facilitates the positioning of an intraocular lens. Designed especially for use with the Crystalens and Akreos instruments, it allows for movement of the lens within the capsule without marking.

Other components of the Crystalens Instrument Set include the Wallace 6 mm Capsulorhexis Gauge, the Utrata MICS Capsulorhexis Forceps and the Whitman Shepherd Double-Ended Capsule Polisher.

Bausch & Lomb received approval from the Food and Drug Administration for the marketing of Crystalens HD in mid-July.
