ProStrakan signs Fortigel deal with Endo

27th August 2009

ProStrakan has signed a licensing and distribution deal with Endo Pharmaceuticals for Fortigel (testosterone), it has revealed.

The deal will see ProStrakan market the product, which is a two per cent testosterone transdermal gel, under the name FORTESTA.

It is used for testosterone replacement therapy in male hypogonadism, utilising a metred dose system of delivery that is designed for optimum measurements between patients.

The Food and Drug Administration is currently reviewing ProStrakan’s new drug application for the treatment.

Chief executive of ProStrakan Dr Wilson Totten said: “Partnering with Endo ensures that FORESTA will achieve its full potential, becoming accessible to urologists and their patients.”

Last week, ProStrakan announced that its revenues rose by 40 per cent during the first six months of 2009. Additionally, its gross profits increased from 17.2 million pounds in 2008 to 24.8 million pounds, it revealed.
