Geistlich Biomaterials ‘to hold symposium on treating extraction sockets’
Geistlich Biomaterials has announced that it will hold a conference focussing on the treatment of extraction sockets and peri-implant infections.
To be held on October 1st, Geistlich Symposium’s guest speaker will be Professor Dr Jan Lindhe, who will discuss the current challenges faced by dental professionals when it comes to the effective treatment of sockets after tooth extractions.
The best ways of preserving the dimensions and contours of the ridge, including bone graft materials and barrier membranes, will be addressed by Mr Lindhe.
A further session on the treatment of peri-implant infections will be held, with Dr Frank Schwarz explaining the finer points of the issue, such as how to tackle re-infection with resective surgery or bone augmentation procedures.
The Geistlich group is made up of three divisions – Geistlich Biomaterials (dental), Geistlich Surgery (orthopaedics) and Geistlich Medical (pharmaceuticals). Its UK headquarters are located in Chester in the north-west of England.
