Elsevier announces conference publishing agreement
Elsevier has announced details of a new agreement that will allow the company to publish the proceedings of the Beijing Forum from 2004 to 2008.
The information will appear in Procedia, an electronic product launched by Elsevier last year to disseminate the proceedings of important conferences around the world.
All conference papers submitted to Procedia appear online on ScienceDirect within six weeks of acceptance and are then freely available to users in the UK and elsewhere.
"The new publishing arrangement with Elsevier will enable the proceedings to reach a wider audience throughout the world and help the global recognition of the forum," said Guoyou Zhang, vice-president of Peking University.
Martin Tanke, managing director of Elsevier S&T journal publishing, added that partnering with an "internationally renowned" institution such as Peking University will further strengthen the firm’s position as "a leading publisher in social science".
Over 2,000 journals are currently available on ScienceDirect, Elsevier’s full-text research platform.
