Astra Tech announces partnership with Dental Wings

19th October 2009

Astra Tech has revealed that it has agreed to enter into an alliance with Dental Wings as of early 2010.

Under the terms of the new partnership, users of Dental Wings around the globe will have the ability to remotely transfer scans to Astra Tech’s design and manufacturing centres for the production of Atlantis patient-specific abutments for all major implant systems.

The resource allows for the scanning of implant cases in dental labs using a Dental Wings 3D scanner.

President and chief executive officer of Astra Tech Peter Selley said that the use of the Atlantis technology can help to increase efficiency and profit at dental laboratories.

“This new partnership with Dental Wings is an important step in our continued efforts to leverage technology to further enhance our customers’ experience with Atlantis abutments while reducing costs and turnaround times,” he added.

Last week, Astra Tech’s dental implant – the Astra Tech OsseoSpeed – was ruled a success by a follow-up study into the product conducted five years after it was first launched.
