Lilly launches new educational resource

3rd December 2009

Lilly has made available its latest educational booklet, entitled The Value of Medicine, Improving Health, Improving Life.

The firm has launched the resource through its website in a bid to encourage communication between the public, patients and professionals regarding best practice in the pharmaceutical sector.

Now in its fourth edition, the booklet contains details on medicine spending, the accessibility of treatments, the risk of importing drugs, the overall value of medicine and the importance of innovation.

David Ricks, president of Lilly, commented: “Providing answers requires that we understand diverse perspectives, offer reliable information and keep the focus on what’s best for patients.”

He added that the publication addresses the “tough questions” Lilly and other pharmaceutical firms face at the present time.

Earlier this week, Lilly revealed that the Food and Drug Administration has approved its generalised anxiety disorder treatment Cymbalta (duloxetine HC1).
