Norgine announces appointment of new director

3rd December 2009

Norgine has appointed a new director, the company revealed this week.

Dr Yvonne Lamb is the latest addition to the firm’s employee base and will assume her new role of director of global pharmacovigilance on January 18th 2010.

She is a qualified physician and has extensive experience in the industry, according to Norgine, her most recent post being that of pharmacovigilance therapy area head for respiratory at GlaxoSmithKline.

Prior to this, Dr Lamb worked in medical evaluation at Roche, as Searle’s UK medical director and has also led the UK clinical development team for SmithKline Beecham.

“Yvonne will be a valuable addition to Norgine’s global pharmacovigilance team,” the firm commented.

In related news, Norgine announced last month that it had acquired the global rights to cetilistat, a treatment for obesity, from fellow pharmaceutical firm Alizyme Therapeutics.

The contract encompasses an assignment of an existing partnering arrangement with Takeda for a cash payment and a share of any future revenues.
