Burson-Marsteller appoints new UK chief executive
Burson-Marsteller has unveiled Matt Carter as the new chief executive of the company’s UK operations.
The co-founder of strategic research company Penn Schoen & Berland (PSB) Associates will succeed Jonathan Jordan, who is leaving Burson-Martseller at the end of February.
Currently managing director of the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region for PSB, Mr Carter previously worked under prime minister Tony Blair as general secretary of the Labour Party.
Jeremy Galbraith, Burson-Marsteller’s EMEA chief executive, said that Mr Carter had been selected for his “leadership skills and experience of working with the boards of leading international companies”.
He also said that the new chief executive would “further develop our evidence-based approach as a key Burson-Marsteller differentiator across the many practice areas of our UK business”.
Mr Jordan will leave the firm, which has UK offices in London and Manchester, to set up his own communications consultancy.
Burson-Marsteller also has bases in other European cities including Barcelona, Brussels, Dublin and Vienna.
