Burson-Marsteller subsidiary appoints managing director

Burson-Marsteller’s subsidiary firm Proof Digital Media has announced that BL Ochman is set to become the company’s new managing director.

An internet strategist and social media expert, Ms Ochman is the woman behind the influential internet marketing portal What’s Next Blog.

She will report to Proof Digital’s chief executive Jay Leveton and has been charged with expanding the company’s social media presence.

Explaining her decision to join the firm, the new recruit said: “It’s clear that the climate and timing are right to join a major organisation with the resources and talent to become the leading agency in the digital space.”

Ms Ochman’s company whatsnextonline.com has developed social media strategies for companies such as IBM, Simon & Schuster and Ford Motors.

She will continue writing her blog, which is in the Ad Age Power 150 ranking of marketing blogs, while working at Proof Digital.

Last week, Burson-Marsteller unveiled Matt Carter as its new UK chief executive.
