Beckman Coulter unveils new automated workstation

Beckman Coulter has this week unveiled a new automatic workstation that combines its Biomek NXp deck-staged tubes staining dyes and antibodies from individual vials.

The Beckman Coulter Antibody Cocktail Preparation workstation is said by the company to improve efficiency and prevent “costly errors”, as the preparation process for multi-colour flow cytometry analysis is automatic.

Life Science Automation’s director Graham Threadgill commented: “Automating this important and complex process will provide researchers with antibody panels that they can depend on.”

“This new workstation will enable precise and cost-effective identification of targets,” he added.

The product has also been designed to reduce the potential for fluorochrome-conjugated antibody stability to be compromised, featuring protection against light and evaporation, as well as temperature controls.

In other Beckman Coulter news, the firm recently signed a five-year agreement with CompuCyte giving it the rights to distribute the latter organisation’s laser scanning cytometers across the global cellular analysis market.
