Henry Schein offers support for homeless charity initiative
Henry Schein has contributed staff and expertise to support a recent initiative conducted by homeless charity group Crisis.
The dental and healthcare product firm assisted the charity over the winter by helping to set up dental units at a Crisis centre in order to provide care for disadvantaged people, reports Dentistry.co.uk.
These treatments included basic oral care and hygiene in many cases, while root canal therapy and extractions were provided in more serious instances.
Henry Schein has now supported the charity on its winter aid initiative for the last five years in succession, with 270 treatments having been performed at the site during 2009.
The firm’s medical and veterinary care divisions were also involved in the scheme this year, with collars and leads having been provided for the pets of many of those treated.
Last month, the company confirmed that it and its supplier partners are providing $1 million (637,000 pounds) worth of medical supplies to aid victims of the recent earthquakes in Haiti.
