UCB Pharmaceuticals selects new candidate board members

29th March 2010

UCB Pharmaceuticals has confirmed Alexandre Van Damme and Bert De Graeve as candidate members for its revised board of directors.

Both two executives have significant business experience, with Mr Van Damme currently a director for Anheuser-Busch InBev and InBev-Baillet Latour, while Mr De Graeve is chief executive officer (CEO) of the Bekaert Group.

The two candidates’ potential appointment will be decided at the company’s general assembly on April 29th 2010, which will also see Prince Lorenz of Belgium step down from his position on the board.

This comes after the conclusion of the prince’s third term as a board member and fulfils part of his original agreement on taking up the position.

Karel Boone and Roch Doliveux, the chairman of the board and CEO of UCB respectively, said: “The board of directors of UCB and the UCB executive committee express their sincere thanks to Prince Lorenz for his key contributions and healthy challenges.”

Earlier this month, the company published its annual financial report, expressing satisfaction with its progress in 2009 despite a year-on-year sales decrease.
