Simplyhealth launches simplified consumer dental plan
Simplyhealth has introduced a revised dental plan which it states is simpler and “more relevant” to consumers.
The relaunched Simply Dental Plan covers check-ups, treatment and emergencies, as well as adding cover for patients who need to spend time in hospital following a referral by a dentist.
It states that the new plan focuses on a preventative approach and has been amended in response to internal research, as well as the recommendations of the government’s recent Steele review.
Raman Sankaran of Simplyhealth said: “We’ve put the emphasis on long-term care by providing additional cover for check-ups and scale and polish to help individuals maintain good oral health.”
The spokesperson added that the new plan is also designed to minimise the financial burden of dental care.
This follows a survey conducted by the company earlier this year which revealed that cost puts many UK residents off getting dental care, with one in ten respondents admitting to not having a dentist at all.
