Agilent Technologies launches new ADME analysis system

25th May 2010

Agilent Technologies has announced the launch of a new system for high-throughput screening of in vitro ADME assays, which it states will accelerate the drug discovery process.

The science firm has allied with Biocius Life Sciences on the new RF360 High Resolution System, which combines Agilent’s mass spectrometry technology with Biocius’ RapidFire capabilities for increased sample processing speed.

This system eliminates the need to perform time-consuming LC/MS method development and batch analysis, allowing the process to become far more streamlined.

Agilent claims the RF360 will help to revolutionise in vitro ADME analysis by “eliminating the method development bottleneck in drug discovery”.

Gustavo Salem, vice-president and general manager of Agilent’s biological systems division, added: “Partnering with Biocius on the RF360 has provided a solution that is the fastest approach to ADME on the market.”

Last week, Agilent published its quarterly financial report for the period ending April 30th 2010, expressing confidence in its future performance after recording a 16 per cent year-on-year revenue increase.
