Genitrix highlights advantages of Irap

2nd June 2010

Genitrix has published details of a case study which illustrates the effectiveness of its syringe-based equine joint and tendon treatment Irap.

The animal health company has highlighted the benefits its treatment has delivered for Swanmore-based equestrian Rebecca Dobson, whose horse Toby was able to make a full recovery from a tendon tear following Irap treatment.

Irap is a drug-free therapy option which functions by culturing the animal’s own blood to produce anti-inflammatory substances for treating injured joints.

According to the rider, the horse had been affected by persistent problems following the injury for two years and was unresponsive to other treatment methods, but has since been given permission to return to eventing.

Ms Dobson said: “Toby is fit and well with a future ahead of him, a situation which was looking increasingly doubtful before the treatment with Irap.”

Last month, the company announced the launch of a discounted blood testing service for canine epilepsy sufferers, following on from the launch of the drug Libromide earlier in the year.
