Virgo Health wins joint Janssen-Cilag contract

15th June 2010

Virgo Health has been awarded a brief by the pharmaceutical company Janssen-Cilag, which will see it partnered with Open Road Communications.

The joint contract will see the two agencies take responsibility for marketing the drug company’s schizophrenia treatment Risperdal Consta in the UK, reports PRWeek.

Janssen-Cilag’s Mark Lloyd Davies explained that Virgo Health has been chosen for the brief in light of its “wealth of experience” in the field of mental health.

Its roster of other pharmaceutical industry clients includes major companies such as Pfizer, Roche, Boehringer Ingelheim and Merck Sharpe and Dohme.

Open Road chief executive Graham McMillan welcomed the opportunity to work with Virgo Health in addressing the “changing environment” surrounding UK mental health policy.

Virgo’s Meredith Guest, who will lead the team in charge of the Risperdal Consta contract, added: “There are unique challenges associated with comms around mental health, with expectations about treatment and staying well constantly evolving.”
