Biotronik Home Monitoring wins industry award

21st June 2010

Biotronik has been presented with the inaugural Cardiostim Innovation Award in honour of its web-based patient monitoring technology Home Monitoring.

The company was presented with the award by the Cardiostim global scientific congress following a vote conducted among delegates between a number of different technologies.

Home Monitoring was introduced ten years ago and is designed to allow physicians to keep track on the clinical and device status of their patients on the move via the mobile phone network.

The award is one of a number of accolades presented to Home Monitoring over the years, with the technology having been nominated for the Deutscher Zukunft Preis last year.

Marlou Janssen, global vice-president of marketing and sales at Biotronik, said: “Biotronik is honoured to receive this outstanding recognition from the physician community, which emphasises that our continuing developments with Home Monitoring have kept this technology at the forefront of innovation in our industry.”

Last week, the company launched its new ProMRI Pacing System in Europe, a technology which allows pacemaker patients to undergo MRI scans without risk of interference.
