Virgo Health wins top honours at Communique Awards

Virgo Health has claimed three of the top accolades on offer at the recent Comminque Awards 2010 ceremony.

The healthcare agency was named as Communique Communications Consultancy of the Year at the event, the second time in a row it has claimed the prize, reports PRWeek.

In addition, the company was presented with the Excellence in Product Communications and Excellence in Healthcare Communications using Media Relations (International) prizes for its work launching the GlaxoSmithKline weight loss drug Alli.

Virgo’s wins came despite an increased number of competitors, with just under 300 entries having been submitted for the awards, 20 per cent more than last year.

Judges on the panel included Virgo Health joint founder Sarah Matthews, as well as representatives from agencies such as OgilvyHealthPR and Resolute Communications.

Last month, PRWeek reported that Virgo Health won a new contract with Janssen-Cilag, which will see it partner with Open Road Communications to launch the schizophrenia treatment Risperdal Consta in the UK.
