Abbott to showcase new diagnostic tools at AACC
Abbott is attending the American Association for Clinical Chemistry Lab Expo (AACC) this week in order to showcase its latest advances in diagnostic technology.
The company is to deliver a number of talks at the event in Anaheim to demonstrate the advantages its newest products can deliver to clinicians and life scientists.
These will include the Architect HIV antigen/antibody combo assay, which is designed for the rapid identification of infections, as well as the m2000 assay for diagnosis of chlamydia and gonorrhea.
Other new Abbott products to be showcased are the ArchitectPlus immunochemistry analysers and the PLEX-ID system for microbial identification.
Brian Blaser, senior vice-president for diagnostics at Abbott, said: “Abbott is focused on improving patient care by offering innovative solutions for our laboratory customers and the patients and physicians they serve.”
Last week, the company published its financial report for the second quarter of 2010, a period which saw its global sales increase by 17.8 per cent year-on-year.
