GE Healthcare wins accreditation for new Centricity Practice Solution

13th August 2010

GE Healthcare has been awarded certification for its forthcoming Centricity Practice Solution version 9.5 technology.

The company's newest IT solution has been inspected by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT), winning a five-star rating following usability testing for ambulatory EHRs.

Overall the product has been awarded the status of a premarket conditionally CCHIT Certified 2011 Ambulatory EHR, with additional accreditation for child health and cardiovascular medicine with advanced reporting.

Jim Corrigan, vice president and general manager of GE Healthcare IT, said: "We believe its verification that we're ready to help our customers meet the requirements for meaningful use."

The Centricity Practice Solution version 9.5 is set to be introduced by GE Healthcare this autumn.

Currently, NHS Central Lancashire is participating in a 12-month trial of GE Healthcare's IntelO Health Guide system in Preston among 40 chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients, with plans to roll out the technology more widely if it is successful.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800024392-ADNFCR
