Corin wins recommendations for Comet and MiniHip products

Corin has been given a recommendation for its Comet and MiniHip medical devices from a prominent UK surgical expert.

Dr SJ Krikler, a consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon based in Coventry, has stated that the two products, which are used in hip resurfacing surgery, can deliver a range of benefits to patients.

The doctor, who visited the firm's manufacturing site in Cirencester earlier this month, said the two products can help patients to enjoy a "new lease of life", as they can be utilised instead of full replacement procedures.

He said: "It's obviously early days still, but I am very pleased with the results I'm getting so far."

Dr Krikler was among the first surgeons in the UK to perform a MiniHip operation at the Annual Congress of the British Orthopaedic Association last year.

Earlier this month, the medical device firm announced that it is currently making good progress on studies into new technology such as artificial knees via its network of research associates.
