Philips launches enhanced iE33 xMatrix ultrasound system
Philips has launched the newest version of its iE33 xMatrix cardiac ultrasound system, which is designed to offer superior functionality and patient care.
The newly-launched version of the device allows high-quality 2D and 3D images to be produced using the new ergonomic X5-1 transducer, as well as offering 3D workflow tools and a visualised colour Doppler flow pattern during 3D exams.
It also incorporates iRotate technology, which automatically rotates the transducer to maintain the best acoustical window, thereby eliminating the need to manually search.
According to Andrew Hatt, interim general manager for ultrasound at Philips Healthcare, the unit will be more efficient and comfortable to use for clinicians and will lead to better patient outcomes.
"The new iE33 xMatrix ultrasound system represents a significant breakthrough in ultrasound – technology that gives clinicians new diagnostic tools and helps them examine patients more quickly," he added.
This comes after Philips announced last month that it is to acquire Shanghai Apex Electronics, a specialist manufacturer of ultrasound transducers.
