Sirona Dental Systems appoints new president

Sirona Dental Systems has announced the appointment of Jeffrey Slovin as its new president, as of the beginning of this week.

Mr Slovin joined Sirona when his former company Schick Technologies merged with the dental supply firm and has since become the director, executive vice-president and chief operating officer of its US operations.

His promotion to president sees him relocate to the company's base in Bensheim, Germany, where he will aid the business in creating new strategies and pursuing further technological growth.

Jost Fischer, chairman and chief executive officer of Sirona, said: "Jeffrey has made considerable contributions to our company and has proven himself an exceptional leader."

The announcement comes as part of a wider corporate restructuring, which also sees executive vice-president Theo Haar retire from the firm, while Walter Petersohn assumes the newly-created post of executive vice-president of sales.

Earlier this month, Sirona Dental Systems launched a new dental reconstruction material, Vitablocs RealLife, which allows natural-looking repairs to be conducted easily.
