CryoLife appoints new vice-president for market development
CryoLife has selected David Lang to fill the newly-created role of vice-president for market development.
Mr Lang is the former president of Starch Medical and previously served as vice-president of international sales and marketing at Medafor, where he played a key role in establishing a European distribution network.
He has been hired by CryoLife in order to coordinate and develop marketing strategies for the haemostatic agent PerClot, which was licensed from Starch Medical.
Steven Anderson, president and chief executive officer of CryoLife, said Mr Lang's established experience in working on marketing and distribution networks for haemostatic agents will serve him well.
He added: "We are pleased to welcome David, an experienced international sales and marketing executive, to CryoLife's international management team."
CryoLife paid $6.8 million (4.3 million pounds) in cash and $1.3 million in restricted CryoLife stock for global rights to PerClot, when agreeing the deal with Starch Medical last week.
