BMJ Group to launch revalidation toolkit for doctors
BMJ Group is to launch an online revalidation toolkit that will aim to make it easier for medical professionals to chart their professional development.
The group's BMJ Learning division will introduce the subscription-based toolkit in the first quarter of 2011, with free access provided to members of the British Medical Association.
It will allow doctors to seamlessly log their BMJ Group and BMJ Learning product activities, in addition to recording other professional development criteria such as audits and 360-degree appraisals.
The toolkit will also allow users to map out personal development plans, as well as marking up and organising learning activities for particular purposes.
Dr Kieran Walsh, editor of BMJ Learning, said: "We are confident that this toolkit will help doctors' progress through appraisal and revalidation as smoothly and efficiently as possible."
In August 2010, BMJ Group announced the appointment of Dr Alison Twycross and Dr Richard Saitz as the new editors for two of its leading evidence-based medical journals.
