Roche’s xCELLigence System to support new cell assays

11th October 2010

Roche Applied Science's xCELLigence System is to support a new range of cell-based assays currently in development by Vivo Biosciences and ACEA Biosciences.

The new label-free real-time assays will utilise Vivo Biosciences' proprietary platform HuBiogel, a system which provides growth and differentiation of primary, cancer and stem cells in a 3D format.

This will expand the functionality of the xCELLigence System and will allow various important cell types to be monitored for applications ranging from basic research to drug development.

Ruedi Stoffel, life cycle leader for cellular analysis at Roche Diagnostics, added: "Roche Applied Science believes that the combination of its unique cell invasion monitoring technology with a human biomatrix can significantly support and accelerate oncology research in analysing the invasive potential of tumour cells."

Last month, it was announced that the xCELLigence System is to be used in new technology from Cellular Dynamics International and ACEA Biosciences for the detection of cardiotoxic side effects among developmental drugs.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800109245-ADNFCR
