Sartorius sees strong growth in 2010
Sartorius has published financial analysis of the fiscal year so far, reporting signs of strong growth across the business.
The company's nine-month figures for 2010 show that Sartorius has taken orders worth 508.3 million euros (450.6 million pounds), a gain of 11.8 percent compared to 2009, while earnings are up by 34.1 percent year-on-year.
Its biotechnology division Sartorius Stedim Biotech contributed the majority of this total, with demand for bioreactors and related production systems rising as pharmaceutical firms increase investments in plant equipment.
The firm also noted year-on-year improvements in sales of single-use products for biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
Dr Joachim Kreuzberg, chief executive officer of Sartorius, said: "With regard to all key financials, 2010 will be a successful year for the Sartorius group in all probability."
Earlier this year, the company expanded its range of offerings for the pharmaceutical sector with a number of refractometers from Schmidt and Haensch.
