Thermo Fisher Scientific launches new cell culture tube

Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced the launch of a new round-bottomed cell culture tube for use in a number of critical applications.

The Thermo Scientific Nunc 14ml tube is a certified-sterile and rigorously-tested product, which has been composed using optically clear polystyrene.

Among its beneficial qualities are its moulded graduations in 0.5ml increments and its polyethylene cap that allows for manual venting or an airtight seal.

It has also passed industry-standard tests for biological reactivity and cytotoxicity, as well as being non-pyrogenic.

The Nunc 14 ml tubes are packaged in lots of ten and include peelable Tyvek lids for ease of use.

According to the manufacturer, the products can "ensure cellular integrity and viability is effectively maintained for even the most sensitive applications".

Earlier this month, Thermo Fisher Scientific announced the creation of a new scientific advisory board populated by company representatives and independent experts, allowing the firm to enhance its dialogue with the healthcare industry.
