BD and Lonza agree co-commercialisation deal
BD Diagnostics has signed a deal with fellow life science company Lonza to co-commercialise a new molecular assay offering for the BD MAX System.
The arrangement will grant Lonza an exclusive global licence to co-market its full range of microCompass molecular assays on the BD MAX System, which provides new quality control testing options for pharmaceutical companies.
Together, the products represent a fast and accurate system that allows efficient automated procedures to be conducted, delivering results on the same day.
In addition to this, BD and Lonza will ally on the development of new automated rapid microbial testing solutions that aim to deliver "load and walk away" functionality.
Tom Polen, president of diagnostic systems at BD Diagnostics, said: "Working with Lonza will accelerate the availability of an integrated molecular quality and process control system for industrial microbiologists."
Earlier this month, it was announced that BD will be working with Bruker Daltonics to create and co-commercialise a new system for integrated microbial detection and antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
