Semperit appoints deputy chairman of board
Semperit, owner of the Sempermed surgical gloves business, has announced the appointment of a new deputy chairman of its managing board.
As of December 1st 2010, the company's board will be extended to accommodate Thomas Fahnemann in the vice-chairman role, following a unanimous decision from the supervisory board.
Mr Fahnemann will bring extensive experience and management skills to the organisation and is being brought in as a successor to the board's current chairman Rainer Zellner.
Following an appropriate transition period, Mr Zellner – who is credited with overseeing the company's development since the 1980s – will be replaced by the deputy chairman after Semperit's general meeting in April 2011.
The outgoing chairman said: "The company's future success is very important to me. I am convinced that an excellent successor to my position has been found with Thomas Fahnemann."
According to Semperit's most recent financial report, the firm experienced double-digit revenue growth in the first half of 2010, with its Sempermed division benefiting from strong demand.
