Fresenius Kabi experiences third quarter growth
Fresenius Kabi has seen double-digit year-on-year growth during the third quarter of 2010.
Figures from the Fresenius group's latest financial report show that the Fresenius Kabi business division's sales advanced by 20 percent during the quarter to a total of 2.7 billion euros (2.4 billion pounds).
The medical device and generic drugs business also saw double-digit increases in earnings and net income, with growth noted across all regions, and has been able to raise its guidance for the full year as a result.
Fresenius Kabi's performance helped the group as a whole to achieve a sales total of 13.9 billion euros for the quarter, up by 13 percent year-over-year.
Ulf Mark Schneider, chief executive officer of Fresenius, said: "All business segments continued their strong first-half sales and earnings growth and achieved excellent results in the third quarter."
In September 2010, Fresenius announced the acquisition of Gambro's worldwide peritoneal dialysis business, allowing it to expand its presence in Europe and Asia-Pacific.
