ALK Abello reports satisfactory 2010 growth levels
ALK Abello has expressed satisfaction with its growth performance in the first nine months of the year after publishing its latest interim financial report.
The pharmaceutical firm generated 1.6 billion kroner (176.5 million pounds) for the period, with vaccine sales up by 11 percent year-on-year, while operating profit levels also advanced compared to 2009.
It explained that this growth has been driven by the strong performance of its products in various markets, while its business acquisitions in recent months have also had a positive effect.
Furthermore, the company made progress on the planned launch of its new adrenaline pen treatment Jext, which received European regulatory approval last month.
It was predicted by ALK Abello that Jext's launch, which will take place in 2011, has the potential to "substantially improve earnings from the business area within the next few years".
Over the 2010 full-year period, the firm expects to achieve vaccine sales growth of nine to 12 percent, while operating profits will increase by between ten and 15 percent.
