Binding Site appoints new chief executive
The Binding Site has officially unveiled Charles de Rohan as its new chief executive.
Announcing the appointment, the specialist diagnostics company's founder and chairman Professor Jo Bradwell said Mr De Rohan will bring "a wealth of international and operational expertise" to the role.
The new chief executive was formerly in charge at Genetix and also spent 15 years in various management positions at the diagnostics division of Abbott Laboratories.
Mr De Rohan said he was impressed by "the quality and ambition of the team" at The Binding Site and noted the increasingly important role played by diagnostics in the pharmaceutical industry.
"Early detection is critical for improved treatment," he commented.
Mr De Rohan started his career with Ernst and Young and successfully negotiated the acquisition of Genetix by US firm Danaher Corporation.
Based in Birmingham, The Binding Site employs more than 460 people worldwide and reported annual turnover of 33.3 million pounds last month.
