B Braun appoints new chairman of supervisory board

B Braun has announced the appointment of Dr Heinz-Waller Grosse as its new chairman of the supervisory board, effective as of April 1st 2011.

The medical technology company has made the appointment in light of the imminent retirement of current chairman Dr Ludwig Georg Braun, who will step down from his position on March 31st 2011.

Dr Grosse is currently vice-chairman of B Braun's board and has worked with the company since 1978, assuming responsibility for financial dealings, human resources and legal affairs during his career.

Concurrent to this announcement, the firm confirmed that the appointment of Caroll Neubauer to the management board is to be extended until 2016.

Meanwhile, Dr Annette Beller and Otto Philipp Braun are also set to become deputy members.

In October 2010, the company unveiled its Space GlucoseControl unit, for use among patients at risk of conditions such as hyperglycaemia and hypoglycaemia, at the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine meeting.
