Steris launches new hand hygiene dispensing product

20th December 2010

Steris has announced the launch of a new hand hygiene dispensing product that allows its range of sanitising agents to be stored more effectively.

Developed based on observations at healthcare facilities, the new OmniFoam Dispenser is a wall-mounted system that contains the product securely and allows it to be easily accesses via its OmniStat tip.

It features a streamlined splashguard, a sleek aesthetic design and a special "empty" tab that can be raised when users discover that the dispenser's supply has run out.

The new device can be used to dispense its Alcare Foamed Antiseptic Handrub and Alcare Plus Antiseptic Handrub with Emollients product lines, which play key roles in hygiene maintenance within hospitals.

Stephen Loes, vice-president of marketing for Steris' infection prevention technologies division, said: "These improvements to our dispensing technology can have a positive impact over time in a hospital if they increase the appropriate use of effective antimicrobial products and improve overall hand hygiene compliance."

Last month, the company announced its second quarter financial results for 2010, noting an expansion in its operating margins during the period.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800301258-ADNFCR
