Eppendorf highlights award-winning performance of Xplorer

Eppendorf has hailed the awards recognition it has received for its Xplorer electronic pipette during its first year on release.

The laboratory device has won three design prizes in the last few months, including a prestigious red dot award in the life science and medicine division in March 2010.

This victory was followed in November 2010 by an honour at the international iF awards and recognition from the Ministry of Economic Affairs in Taiwan in the form of the Golden Pin Design Award.

According to the manufacturer, these accolades have been presented due to the device's combination of ergonomic qualities, precise performance and intuitive use.

The company added: "Over the last several years, Eppendorf has received many design awards for its innovative high-quality lab products and is set to continue this tradition with the Eppendorf Xplorer."

At the beginning of next month, Eppendorf is to integrate all operations of its subsidiary New Brunswick UK into those of its Cambridge site.
