Elsevier appoints new co-editor-in-chief for neurology journal
Elsevier has announced the appointment of Professor DeLiang Wang as co-editor-in-chief of Neural Networks, its neurology-focused medical journal.
Professor Wang, who is employed at the department of computer science and engineering at Ohio State University, will succeed founding editor Professor Stephen Grossberg on January 1st 2011.
"Steve has done more than anybody in building up the infrastructure of neural networks, an enabling interdisciplinary field that has changed and is still shaping many related disciplines and technologies," he said.
The journal was founded in 1987 and includes content on all aspects of neural network research, including behavioural and brain modelling, computational analyses and technological applications of systems using neural network concepts.
Professor Wang stated that he will be aiming to strengthen the position of the Elsevier journal as an industry-leading publication, as well as expediting the review process and enhancing communication with authors.
Earlier this month, Elsevier named Dr Nancy Redeker as the new editor-in-chief of its journal Heart and Lung: The Journal of Acute and Critical Care.
