Henry Schein CEO honoured by Alpha Omega dental fraternity

Henry Schein's chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) Stanley Bergman has won a prestigious honour from the Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity.

The executive was presented with Alpha Omega's Lifetime Achievement Medal at the end of last month, becoming the first non-healthcare professional or PhD to win the prize in 30 years.

Alpha Omega is the world's oldest dental fraternity and has worked together with Henry Schein for numerous years on projects to expand access to oral care facilities globally.

Previous winners of its Lifetime Achievement Medal include notable figures such as Dr Jonas Salk and Dr Albert Einstein.

Mr Bergman said: "I am proud to accept this award on behalf of nearly 14,000 Team Schein members and know that our best years are yet to come for the partnership between Henry Schein and Alpha Omega."

According to Henry Schein's most recent financial report in October 2010, the company has experienced growth in its dental business in recent months, with the UK identified as a strong performer.
