Software of Excellence wins medical device accreditation for Exact

Software of Excellence has been granted Medical Device Class I accreditation for Exact, its practice management software for dental practitioners.

The company's Examinepro, Exact and Soel Health software solutions have all been licensed under EU regulations introduced last year, which require all healthcare software to be registered as a medical device, reports Dentistry.co.uk.

Software of Excellence has therefore supplied EU regulators with comprehensive information on each product and the potential risks associated with their use.

This will be kept on file and maintained by the company's product managers.

Greg Clay, the firm's sales and marketing director, said the accreditation illustrates that Software of Excellence's offerings are both safe and fit for purpose.

"This is yet another confirmation that [customers] can be reassured that Exact, Examinepro and Soel Health are all quality products that make a positive contribution to the efficient running of dental practices," he added.

In November 2010, Software of Excellence's Thrive practice management improvement programme was recognised by Dentistry.co.uk as a nominee for product of the year.
