Pfizer names new specialty care SVP
Pfizer has appointed Dr Yvonne Greenstreet as the new senior vice-president (SVP) and head of medicines development for its specialty care business unit.
Dr Greenstreet stepped into the role at the beginning of this month as the successor to the retiring Dr Michael Berelowitz and now reports directly to the unit's president and general manager Geno Germano.
She joins Pfizer following an 18-year career with fellow pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline, where she most recently held the role of SVP and chief of strategy, research and development, while prior to this she practiced medicine in the NHS.
As head of medicines development, she will be responsible for ensuring the specialty care unit's development portfolio advances in line with strategic priorities.
Mr Germano said: "Yvonne has a strong track record of leadership and outstanding results during her career in the biopharmaceutical industry."
Last week, the Healthcare Businesswomen's Association announced that Pfizer chief medical officer Dr Freda Lewis-Hall has been chosen as its woman of the year for 2011.
