Biotronik launches Reliaty pacing system analyser in Europe

Biotronik has announced the launch of a new pacing system analyser (PSA) in Europe, which will deliver greater flexibility for medical device implantations.

The Reliaty PSA is being launched after receiving CE Mark approval and successfully undergoing a pre-market evaluation procedure.

It is a handheld device used in the implantation of pacemakers, cardioverter-defibrillators and cardiac resynchronisation therapy systems, enabling better maintenance of cardiac functions and more accurate lead placement.

According to the manufacturer, the Reliaty system's portable nature and intuitive interface allows testing to be conducted quickly, easily and safely in potentially critical situations.

Marlou Janssen, vice-president for global marketing and sales for Biotronik's cardiac rhythm management, said: "Reliaty is yet another example of Biotronik's focus on developing optimised solutions for advanced patient management."

Last month, the firm welcomed news that partner Endosense has commenced a key clinical trial of the ablation catheter system TactiCath, which will be sold in Europe by Biotronik.
