Reckitt Benckiser reports year of strong growth in 2010
Reckitt Benckiser has published its financial results for the 2010 full-year period, during which the company was able to grow ahead of the overall market.
The healthcare firm's total net revenue for the 12 months came to 8.45 billion pounds, a year-on-year increase of seven percent at constant exchange rates, while profit, income and earnings levels also rose.
During the year, the company saw a strong performance by its Powerbrands, while also noting continued success for its opioid dependence treatment Suboxone, which commands a 25 percent share of the US market.
Additionally, it was able to complete the acquisition of SSL International, the manufacturer of the Durex contraceptives brand, as well as agree a takeover of the Indian healthcare business Paras Pharmaceuticals.
Bart Becht, chief executive officer for Reckitt Benckiser, said: "Reckitt Benckiser enjoyed another year of market-beating results, despite declining global market growth.
"For 2011, we are aiming for another year of above industry-average growth."
