Ark Therapeutics appoints new non-executive director
Ark Therapeutics has announced the appointment of Dr David Bloxham as a new non-executive director on the company's board.
Dr Bloxham will take up the role from March 1st 2011, with Andrew Christie to stand down from his position on the board on March 9th.
The new director offers extensive pharmaceutical industry experience, having served in key research roles at companies such as Roche, Almirall and Celltech.
In addition, Dr Bloxham acted as chief executive officer for Cobra Therapeutics and Evolutec Group, while he also has a distinguished academic background in disciplines relevant to the biotechnology sector.
Iain Ross, chairman of Ark Therapeutics, said: "We are delighted David has agreed to join the board of the company, as he brings invaluable experience and knowledge of research and development in the biotech setting."
Earlier this month, the firm announced plans to sell off the majority of its woundcare assets to Crawford Woundcare, as it looks to redefine the focus of its business.
