Biohit reports continued growth in 2010
Biohit has published its financial report for the 2010 fiscal year, which represented the company's best 12 months ever in net sales growth terms.
The healthcare firm generated 40 million euros (33.97 million pounds) during the year, up from 35.4 million euros in 2009, while also recording a profit for the third consecutive year.
During 2010, the company benefited from an increase in demand for its products which began at the end of 2009, with its diagnostics and liquid handling business units both seeing double-digit percentage increases.
Jussi Heinio, Biohit's president and chief executive officer, noted that the business has also made a number of strategic changes to its organisation and operating model in the last 12 months.
For example, it announced in December 2010 that it is suspending plans to spin off its diagnostics business and will instead be pursuing efficiency improvement measures.
Biohit now expects to grow its sales by a further ten percent in the coming year.
