GE Healthcare welcomes Earl Howe for Amersham site visit
GE Healthcare has been visited at its facilities in Amersham by Earl Howe, the parliamentary undersecretary of state for health.
Lord Howe travelled to the company's Grove Centre research and manufacturing base in order to observe its work in creating new innovations in medical technology, including diagnostic products and imaging devices.
He met with the firm's president and chief executive officer John Dineen and medical diagnostics head Pascale Witz to discuss GE Healthcare's operations, as well as talking through the company's views on the new NHS reforms.
The minister praised the work being conducted by the firm and highlighted the crucial role it will play in improving UK healthcare standards in future.
Lord Howe said: "We are determined to make the NHS one of the leading healthcare systems in the world and technological advancements, which GE Healthcare contributes to, play a huge part in this."
Last month, the company expanded its operational scope via the acquisition of Orbotech Medical Solutions, which manufactures cadmium zinc telluride detectors for use in nuclear medicine.
