Biotronik launches new implantable cardiac device programmer

8th March 2011

Biotronik is launching its Renamic implantable cardiac device programmer in Europe, an intuitively-designed medical device which has been optimised for ease of use.

The unit is the smallest in its class and features a clear touchscreen-operated interface, multiple data transmission options and compatibility with Biotronik's SafeSync wireless interrogation system.

It is designed for use in the initial programming, reprogramming and testing of units such as implantable pacemakers, cardioverter-defibrillators and cardiac resynchronisation therapy devices and can help to personally tailor patient therapy.

The efficacy of Renamic has been validated in more than 1,000 follow-up user tests conducted by the manufacturer.

Marlou Janssen, vice-president of global marketing and sales at Biotronik's cardiac rhythm management division, said: "In combination with Reocor, our new external pacemaker, and Reliaty, our new pacing system analyser, Renamic completes a rapid succession of brand new external device releases."

Last month, the company began a new clinical study that aims to investigate best practices when conducting implantable cardioverter defibrillator implantations.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800448811-ADNFCR
