Burson-Marsteller appoints new healthcare account director

Burson-Marsteller has expanded its UK healthcare team with the appointment of Deborah Burrage to a new role.

Ms Burrage is taking up the position of account director for the media agency, having formerly worked as a freelancer, reports PR Week.

The new director brings experience in the field of healthcare marketing, as she was previously employed by Innovex Medical Communications prior to her freelancing work.

In her position at Burson-Marsteller, she will be tasked with assisting in the development of the company's scientific communications business unit.

This comes after PRWeek reported in January 2011 that the agency has appointed Sally Dobson to the newly-created post of director of communications, taking charge of internal and external correspondence.

Ms Dobson is known for her lengthy association with the Labour Party, acting as general election coordinator for its successful 2001 and 2005 campaigns, as well as acting as assistant political secretary to then-prime minister Tony Blair.
