Grenier Bio-One launches microplate for protein crystal analysis

10th March 2011

Grenier Bio-One has announced the launch of a new microplate that is optimised for in-situ X-ray and ultraviolet (UV) analysis of protein crystals.

The 96-well CrystalQuick X was developed in partnership with Beamline FIPBM30A and is the first device of its kind to be specially designed for X-ray structural analysis of protein crystals directly in the plate.

It features angular geometry that allows data to be collected directly in the plate, while its well bottom features an ultra-thin construction in order to reduce background scattering to a minimum.

Other attributes of the plate include its alphanumeric well coding and additional scale for use in crystal size estimation, while its footprint is compatible with the ANSI/SBS 1-2004 standard.

Grenier Bio-One said: "Thanks to the excellent optical properties of CrystalQuick X, the new microplate is ideal for brightlight microscopy as well as applications involving polarised and UV light."

Later this month, the life sciences company will be attending the ELRIG Cell-Based Screening meeting, which takes place from March 15th 2011 in Cambridge.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800454675-ADNFCR
