Lupin Limited has announced that it will be providing a donation to the Japanese Red Cross to assist relief efforts following the recent earthquake in the Asian nation.
The generic medicine company's Japanese subsidiary Kyowa Yakuhin is to offer a contribution of 10 million yen (78,814 pounds) to help victims of the natural disaster, in addition to donations of medicines.
Lupin also confirmed that all 355 staff members of Kyowa Yakuhin, which is based in Sanda, were safe and unaffected by the major quake and consequent tsunami.
Vinod Dhawan, president for business development and head of the Asia, Africa, Middle East and Latin America region at Lupin, said the move is designed to show its solidarity with those affected by the incident.
"We offer our full support and any help that authorities might require in relief operations and we will do as much as we can to help the disaster victims," he said.
In January 2011, the company announced that it experienced a 19th successive quarter of financial growth during the three months ending on December 31st 2010.
